Breakfast on the go: Protein Waffles

Ingredients

For 8 waffles:

  • 230 grams of all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 30 grams of the Nutribar Powder of your choice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter (one stick of butter melted)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer, crack the 3 eggs and mix at high speed about 5 minutes (until they have risen). This allows air to get into the mixture which gives that light, fluffy taste.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the eggs and mix at low-medium speed.
  4. Add dry ingredients to the mixture at low-medium speed. (do not mix to much, just until fully incorporated).
  5. Cook the waffle mixture according to your device.

What is fun about this recipe is that for anyone who is super busy or doesn't have time to make an elaborate breakfast, this can easily be made during the weekend, frozen and then just put in the toaster before leaving for work, the gym or school! An easy yet yummy and nutritious breakfast! Nutribar is known for their powders being used as smoothies as it is a protein packed powder! But sometimes it's fun to shake things up and this recipe is perfect for that!

You can always decide to add fruits as I did, or coulis or chocolate chips... The possibilities are endless! You could never get bored!
