Day Trips Away from Home: Wine Down with the Perfect Lunch with a View

Nothing sounds better to me then drinking a glass of wine on a sunny day while looking at a beautiful view. If you like the sound of that then you'll you'll definitely love Vignoble Rivière du Chêne in the Basses Laurentides (https://www.vignobleriviereduchene.ca/). The winery is open daily from 10am to 5pm but I wanted to talk about their dining options on site.

They offer 3 different experiences:

  • Gourmet Boards, from Wednesday to Saturday from 11h30-2h30PM and Sunday 2:30-3:00PM.
  • Tapas Night, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5PM to 10PM
  • Brunch on Sundays from 10 to 3PM.

** Reservation is required and recommended for all experiences

As we went on a Thursday around 11:00-11:30, we got to try out the gourmet platter experience and it was incredible! I would suggest going for an early lunch around 11-11:30 if you prefer having a private like experience and for pictures. In fact, around 12PM a lot more people started arriving and the restaurant filled up pretty quickly!

As you can see in the menu below there are 3 platter options to chose from:

  • Planche du terroir: Charcuterie and cheeseboard
  • Délices des rivages: Seafood inspired platter
  • Sweet Platter: All desserts from sorbet to cheesecake.

All platters are designed to be shared by 2 people but you can always request a platter for 3 or more for an additional price. We decided to share the charcuterie board and the sweet platter. To accompany both we also got a wine tasting of 3 different wines of our choice from the wine list (excluding sparkling wines). Our server made sure to order the wines best as possible with what we were eating. As well you can always ask the server to recommend certain wines depending on what you are eating. Everything was delicious and the view is just incredible to look at! You really feel like you are on vacation!

After your meal, be sure to walk around the vineyard and explore the beautiful scenery surrounding the winery! It makes for incredible photos and lovely memories!

Safe Travels and Bonne Appetit!
