Fall Apple Crumble Smoothie Bowl

Even though cozy weather is upon us, I always find myself craving a good smoothie bowl! Being as this is a very summery dish, I wanted to create a bowl that would incorporate my favorite fall flavors. As well, Oikos recently came out with a new product: Morning Oats, Greek yogurt drink. It is the perfect product for a morning on the go or a slow one! As well, it contains 9g protein. It comes in 3 different flavors: field berries, oats and seeds; vanilla, apricots, oats and seeds; banana, oats and seeds.

Apple Crumble Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

Smoothie
  • 2 apples cut in small pieces
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 4 dates
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 Morning Oats vanilla, apricots, oats & seeds
  • 1/4 cup of quick oats
  • A pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg
Toppings
  • some of the apple compote created
  • a spoonful of almond butter
  • decorative cookies for crunch
  • your favorite granola
  • 1 banana

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in a pan at medium heat.
  2. Add the cut apples, maple syrup, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  3. Let cook until apples are caramelized. Make sure you stir a couple of times so it doesn't stick.
  4. In a blender, add all the ingredients and 3/4 of the apple mixture (rest will be used as a topping). For a creamier/frozen texture, you can add ice cubes as well.
  5. In a bowl, add the smoothie and the toppings of your choice (e.g., almond butter, granola, cookies, banana....)
