The Many Fall Adventures of Frank the Doodle: PEC with your dog

Finally made it back to one of my favorite places in Ontario, Prince Edward County, but this time it was even better because I had my furry friend with me! I will be sharing our whole itinerary for a dog friendly trip in PEC!

We stayed at the Lakeside Motel, a dog friendly spot located in Wellington. It is the first place I visited when I fell in love with PEC and so it holds a special place in my heart! It is honestly so convenient for a weekend away with your dog since your car is parked right in front of your room and you can walk around and bring your dog on the patio which offers a stunning view on the water!

Breakfast and Coffee

Definitely the most popular place in Wellington! This is the place to be for a morning coffee, pastry and a little amaretti cookie. Open Wednesday to Sunday 8 to 4!

Open Friday to Tuesday for brunch this is a great place to sit down on a patio and enjoy a good brunch! We got the classic waffles and dutch baby and it was delicious!

Wineries and Distillery

Located on a clay limestone hill this is easily one of the most popular wineries of the area! You can visit the winery year-round to taste their internationally acclaimed wines.

Located at 883 Closson Road, this is one of the coolest concepts I've seen: It's a cocktail food truck!! Open Seasonally from May to October it's definitely a must. Here's what we tried:

  • Flight Path Cocktail: pineapple-infused rum, lacto-fermeted berry codial, lime, falernum, cava, berry roll-up
  • Pig Mac Dog: american cheddar, shrettuce, onions, pickles, sesame seeds, secret sauce
  • Bahn Mi? No, Bahn You! Dog: pickled carrot, cucumber, green onion, black sesame, bahn mi sauce
  • Go taste some spirits at Kinsip

Kinsip House of Fine Spirits is a farm-based, grain-to-glass distillery and they offer on site tastings of their spirits as well as offer a cocktail menu that is definitely worth checking out!

Dinner

When I say this is a must visit... I really mean it! They allow dogs on the patio which was perfect for us! But from the food to the cocktail to everything in between it was an amazing meal! They treated Frank like royalty and just really made our experience next level! We will definitely be going again!

  • The Lakeside Motel (for dessert and sunset views)

One of my favorite activities of the weekend! The sunset was incredible and it was just the perfect night to enjoy a nice fire by the water. Obviously for the occasion we had to get a S'mores kit which they sell directly at the bar and it was just the ideal way to end our day!

And of course if you want to do a little shopping, walking around in Picton is the place to be!

Safe Travels & Bon Appetit!
