Best Breakfast Spot North Of Montreal

Breakfast has been described as the most important meal of the day. Might as well be the best!!!

There are already so many good breakfast places in Montreal why should you drive 30 minutes out of the city to enjoy breakfast... right?? Well, just because it's worth it. Le Cochon Santé is a unique restaurant that has over 100 reviews on tripadviser and is rated as a 4,5/5! No wonder it has been there for so long... I have been going almost every week for the past 10 years! Le Cochon Santé is located at 236 Grande-Côte, Rosemère. Open on the week from 7 until 3 pm and on weekends from 8 until 3 pm.

Flavorful and healthy are the two key words to describe their cuisine. Every dish is made with as many Quebec local products as possible and with the freshest possible ingredients. The menu changes a few times a year always offering as many sweet and savory options. But, they always make sure to keep the guest's favorite dishes available! On top of the regular menu, everyday they offer a daily breakfast and lunch inspired by the season. Also, if you are not in the mood for breakfast, don't worry! They offer lunch options starting at 11h every day of the week! For quite some time now, they even have been selling there very own homemade products, from jams, to orange juice and even granola!

Top to bottom: breakfast bread of the day, budwig cream with fruit and nut bread french toast with aged cheddar , warm apples, pancetta and maple syrup
Our favorite dish: warm apples, aged cheddar and maple syrup in thin pancake.

If you decide to try Le Cochon Santé here are a couple of tips.

  • It gets very busy during the weekend so try going as early as possible in the morning because sometimes the line can have as much as an hour wait. They don't take reservations on the weekend or on bank holidays so it is first come first serve.
  • When the restaurant is very busy they don't sit groups that aren't complete so make sure everyone is there before asking for a table!
  • During the summer, they have a terrace that has only 12 tables so on any busy day it get filled up pretty quickly. So, if you wish to sit outside but don't really want to wait get there as early as possible. Also, you can ask to be seated inside near the garage doors (when they're open) and you feel the same as you would outside.
  • If you get a iced coffee (wish you should), say yes to the maple syrup in it!
