Nikkei celebrates CHŌCHIN MATSURI, The lantern Festival

From September 29 to October 31, Nikkei is completely redecorated in the colors of the season to celebrate CHŌCHIN MATSURI, The lantern Festival! For the occasion, they have created a tasting menu to share offering 3 new dishes, as well as a cocktail menu with fall flavors!

Let's first start off with cocktails! For the occasion, they are offering 5 different cocktails and we got to try 2 of them! You can also add Moët & Chandon apperitif as a first service in the tasting menu.

We tried out:

  • Secret Garden: Cognac Henessy, Rosemont Ananas, Pomme, Chai Tea, Fall spices and maple meringue.
  • Divine RItual: Vodka Grey Goose, Saké junmai, White miso, Kumquat, Apricot, Honey, Ginger

Now for the tasting menu.

SERVICE 1: Duo de nigiris

  • Nigiris de res: Torched togarashi filet mignon Tataki, sushi style rice, chalaquita, rayunnaise & soy sauce Nikkei
  • Nigiris de unagi: Bbq eel, sushi style rice, sauce sweet limo, wakame, orange zest & sauce soja Nikkei.


  • Ceviche Nikkei: Salmon, Choclo, lebanese cucumber, trout caviar & ponzu leche de tigre
  • Arroztadas de atún: Tuna tartar, radis, mujjol & fried rice crisps


  • Yakitons Duo: Jamòn,  tare sauce, Sesame & shishito ; filet mignon, marinated mushrooms, ajì amarillo & fleur de sel
  • Curry de hotate: Scallops,  japanese curry, ají amarillo, bonito flakes & chalaquita


  • Lomito Saltado: Filet mignon, egg yolk confit, cherry tomatoes, Red onions & sauce lomo saltado


  • Choice of a one dessert: Macarons of the day, yuzu tarlet or suspiro

It was such a lovely experience and definitely a menu worth trying out! The perfect and tastiest way to welcome fall. I would recommend making a reservation to try it out.
